Quick answer: Using Google Ads data for Meta ads and TikTok means treating search as your research lab. Tag converting search terms by angle (pain, feature, comparison, objection) and brief social creative from them, pick hero products from Shopping and PMax by margin-weighted value, and seed audiences with your own buyer lists. Fix server-side tracking first, then judge results on blended MER and branded search growth.

1. Why search data makes social ads better

Google Ads is the one channel where customers tell you, in their own words, what they want. Every converting search term is a tested message: the problem they had, the feature they cared about, the competitor they were comparing. Meta and TikTok work the other way round. They interrupt people who were not searching, so the hardest part is knowing which angle, product and offer will stop the scroll. Using Google Ads data for Meta ads and TikTok closes that gap. Instead of guessing at creative, you brief it from proven buying intent.

The workflow has three layers: clean measurement on every platform, a shared data structure so the channels can be compared, and a weekly routine that moves insights from Search and Shopping into social creative and audiences.

2. Get measurement right on every platform first

Insights are only as good as the tracking behind them. Before moving any data across channels, make sure each platform is collecting it properly.

Google side

  • Consent Mode: required in practice for EEA and UK traffic. Without consent signals, Google's conversion modeling and remarketing audiences degrade.
  • Enhanced conversions: send hashed first-party data (such as email) with conversions to improve match rates and attribution.
  • GA4 linked to Google Ads: share audiences and conversions so both tools tell the same story.

Meta and TikTok side

  • Meta Conversions API: run the server-side API alongside the pixel, send the same event_id from both so Meta can de-duplicate, and pass customer information fields to raise Event Match Quality, which you can monitor in Events Manager.
  • TikTok Events API: pair it with the TikTok pixel in the same way. Browser-only tracking misses a growing share of conversions.
  • Attribution windows: Meta has phased out its longer view-through windows, so reporting now centers on 7-day click and 1-day view. TikTok's Attribution Manager lets you set click and view windows; match them to Meta where you can so comparisons are fair.

If any of this is shaky, fix it before anything else. Our conversion tracking and GA4 setup service covers Google, and the same principles apply to server-side events on social.

3. Build a shared data structure across channels

Cross-channel decisions fall apart when each platform names things differently. Spend an afternoon standardizing three things.

  • UTM conventions: one pattern for every paid link, for example source = platform, medium = paid_social or cpc, campaign = objective_theme_country, content = creative ID plus hook. Consistent tags let GA4 compare channels on the same basis.
  • Event names and parameters: use the same funnel events everywhere (view content, add to cart, begin checkout, purchase) with value, currency and product IDs, plus a flag for new versus returning customers if your stack supports it.
  • A first-party data hub: your CRM, e-commerce platform or email tool should hold buyer lists and purchase history. This is the source you upload to each ad platform, with the consent your privacy policy requires.

Important: you cannot export Google Ads or GA4 audiences into Meta or TikTok. What moves between platforms is your own customer data and the insights you learn. Build audiences from your CRM, not from another ad platform.

4. Turning Google Ads data for Meta ads into creative angles

Run this every week or two. Open the search terms report and the Search terms insights view, filter for queries that convert, and tag each one by angle:

Search signalAngle it revealsHow to use it on social
"shoes for plantar fasciitis"Pain pointOpen the video on the problem, then show relief
"waterproof vegan leather duffel"Feature stackDemo each feature in quick cuts
"[brand] vs [competitor]"ComparisonSide-by-side creative without naming the rival
"is [product] worth it"ObjectionAnswer the doubt with reviews or a guarantee
"[product] for small apartments"Use caseShow the product in that exact setting

Each angle becomes a creative brief: a hook for the first seconds, the proof that backs it, and the offer. Turn the strongest three to five angles into several executions each (creator-style video, static, carousel) so the social algorithms have variety to test. Our ad creative services team builds these packages for brands that need volume.

5. Choose hero products and offers from Shopping and PMax

Your Shopping and Performance Max reports show which products convert on intent alone. Rank products by margin-weighted conversion value per market, not by revenue, so you push items that actually make money. The top group becomes your hero set for Meta catalog ads and TikTok product or Shop campaigns.

  • Use PMax channel and search term reporting to confirm which queries drive those products before you bet social spend on them.
  • Note which promotions lift conversion rate on Google (free shipping thresholds, bundles, first-order offers) and test the same offers on social.
  • Watch Google category trends for seasonal spikes, and build social creative two to three weeks before demand peaks so it is ready and out of learning when interest rises.

Our Performance Max guide covers how to read PMax reporting before you act on it.

6. Seed social audiences with first-party buyers

Google-driven purchases tell you who your best customers are. Export high-value segments from your store or CRM (repeat buyers, high order value, specific product buyers) and upload them as customer lists to Meta and TikTok. Use them as seeds for lookalike audiences and as suggestions for broad, AI-driven targeting. Use the same lists as exclusions in prospecting so you do not pay to reach people who already buy from you. Keep customer list uploads within your consent terms and each platform's rules, and note that some sensitive categories, such as health, face extra data restrictions on Meta.

7. Applying the signals on Meta

  • Prospecting: one Advantage+ sales campaign with broad placements usually works best. Feed it creative variety rather than narrow interest targeting, and add five to eight new concepts every week or two, built from your Google angles.
  • Retargeting: a small campaign for product viewers, cart abandoners and recent buyers, with catalog ads for cross-sell or bundles. Exclude these audiences from prospecting where the setup allows.
  • Budget: put most social budget into prospecting and scale in moderate steps while blended efficiency holds.

If you would like this run for you, see our Meta ads management service.

8. Applying the signals on TikTok

  • Campaigns: a conversion campaign for prospecting to your website (or TikTok Shop if you sell there), plus a smaller catalog campaign for dynamic product ads.
  • Creative: TikTok rewards native-looking video. Take the same search angles and brief creators to deliver them in the first two seconds, in their own voice.
  • Refresh rate: creative tires faster here, so plan a steady weekly supply of new hooks built on proven angles.

9. Measure the combined effect

Platform dashboards each claim credit, so judge social growth on business-level numbers too:

  • Blended MER: total revenue divided by total ad spend across all channels.
  • Branded search demand: rising brand searches and brand-campaign conversions on Google often signal that social is creating demand.
  • New customer revenue: track first-time buyers separately from returning ones.
  • Holdout or geo tests: when you scale social hard, pause or reduce spend in a comparable region to estimate true incremental lift.

The loop then repeats: social creates new demand, that demand shows up as fresh search terms, and those terms brief your next round of social creative. For the Google-side remarketing layer, see our remarketing guide.

Key takeaways

  • Search terms are tested messages: use them to brief Meta and TikTok creative
  • Fix measurement first: Consent Mode, enhanced conversions, Meta Conversions API and TikTok Events API
  • Standardize UTMs and event names so channels can be compared fairly
  • Pick hero products by margin-weighted conversion value from Shopping and PMax
  • Move your own first-party buyer lists between platforms, never platform audiences
  • Judge the result on blended MER, branded search growth and incrementality tests

FAQ

Cross-Channel Data FAQs

Quick answers to the questions we hear most.

How can I use Google Ads data for Meta ads?
Pull converting search terms and top products from Google Ads, group them into angles such as pain points, features and objections, and brief Meta creative around those angles. Promote the products that convert best on Google and test the offers that lift conversion rate there.
No. Google Ads and GA4 audiences stay inside Google. What you can move is your own first-party customer data, such as buyer lists from your store or CRM, uploaded to Meta and TikTok as customer lists within your consent terms.
For most e-commerce brands, yes. Browser pixels miss a growing share of conversions. Server-side events, de-duplicated against the pixel with a shared event ID, give the algorithms more complete data to optimize on.
Watch blended MER, branded search volume and brand-campaign conversions as social spend changes. For a firmer answer, run a geo holdout where social spend is reduced in one comparable region and compare results.
Use matching windows where possible. Meta now reports mainly on 7-day click and 1-day view after removing its longer view windows, and TikTok lets you set click and view windows in Attribution Manager. Aligning them makes comparisons fairer.
